A Governor’s Live Zoom Event Got Hacked With Very Graphic Porn

A politician’s online youth outreach event in Argentina took an extremely NSFW-turn when someone hacked panels of the Zoom screen behind him with graphic sex scenes.

Gustavo Bordet, the governor of the central Argentine province of Entre Rios, held the event in person with about a dozen other politicians and activists. Another thousand or so participants joined online, many of their heads live-streamed onto a massive screen behind them.

But soon after other, um, heads, started appearing.

While official video of the event is no longer online, one particularly graphic video posted on Twitter shows the Vice Governor of Entre Rios, Laura Stratta, speaking into a microphone as a man in a chair masterbates in one of the panels in the background. Local media claimed that videos of people performing oral sex also popped up throughout the event. It’s unclear whether the videos were live sex acts by participants, or recorded porn fed into the stream.

The anonymous profiles then quickly disappeared, and no suspects have been named, nor arrests made related to the hack.

The event was organized by youth members of the ruling Justicialist Party of President Alberto Fernández, which Bordet represents, and advertised as a “Generational Meeting” to talk about political challenges during a pandemic.

And while they reportedly addressed that issue during the event, it also brought to the forefront another issue that didn’t really exist before the coronavirus pandemic—bored people hacking Zoom events with porn.

In August, an online hearing for a Florida teen accused of masterminding the massive hack of the Twitter accounts of Barack Obama, Kim Kardashian, and other global icons, was itself hacked with pornographic videos.

Similar Zoom porn hacks have popped up repeatedly throughout the pandemic, from a Chicago alderman’s Zoom event to a New Jersey school district meeting. There have also been numerous reports of online classes being bombarded with porn as well.

The recent incident in Argentina isn’t the only international incident either. Zoom hacks with porn have popped up from a parliamentary session in South Africa to a British soccer club fan meeting.

The tactic, generally referred to as “Zoom bombing,” is just one of the issues plaguing the video-conferencing company. In April 2020, hackers obtained the credentials to over 500,000 Zoom accounts and sold them online.
